My 15 year old son, Tyler and I had our first experience drift boat fishing and I’m sure glad we went with Mario. He was super patient, fun, good teacher and not too intense–didn’t get disappointed with our repeated mistakes. Tyler caught his first salmon and the day was as beautiful as it could get on the Klamath. Highly recommend him and I can’t wait to go back for another trip.

First, you are wasting your time fishing the Klamath without an outfitter. And Mario has this river wired. He knows the holes and seams to hit and sets the boat up for the best presentation. His equipment is top quality. In 2 days fishing we had 42 steelhead caught and released. A few 1/2 pounders, but most ranged 3 to 10 pounds. Can’t even count how many bites and hook up but lost we had. Ad to this, Mario is just one heck of a nice guy. Plus, he is willing to share his knowledge. I definitely plan a return trip.

Mario is a great guide and person, highly recommend. The fishing is stellar, he has great equipment, and it’s beautiful out there! If you are staying multiple nights, plan on bbq or camp style food where ever you stay. The one restaurant in town makes great pizza and recommend going there for dinner.

I had a great day out on the Klamath river with Mario. Not even 5 minutes in and we were getting bites. Mario took me steelhead fishing on the Klamath last month. It was non stop action the entire day and we didn’t see any other boats. Scenery was amazing. When he knew there were fish in a whole, he would motor or row back up as many times as necessary until the bite stopped. He’s a great guy. Grew up right there so he knows every inch of that river.
