Klamath River Rafting Trips Are Secluded

klamath river rafting

The Klamath River is the second largest in California and features more than 180 miles of raft-able water. The Klamath was one of the first rivers in California to be granted National “Wild and Scenic River” status and is beloved for rafting and fishing. Besides the diversity of plants, it is common to see black bear, deer, turtles, otter, great blue heron, bald eagles, and osprey.

With its origin located near Klamath Falls in Oregon, the Klamath River carves out a beautiful and diverse river canyon through one of the most unique regions on Earth. As the Klamath River flows west, the canyon becomes lusher, and numerous side streams and rivers add to the flow. Flowing through the maze of rugged peaks and ridges of the Klamath-Siskiyou mountains, the Klamath River offers fun splashy water, beautiful scenery, the best side hike in California to Ukonom Falls, warm water, and abundant wildlife.

The Klamath River Rafting more than holds its own and has always been loved by the people who know her, it’s an ideal choice for those interested in a family river rafting trip or introduction to whitewater rafting. You will journey through the most scenic and secluded sections of the river, it’s like someone turned back time when you float away from the boat launch. Gold miners and colorful characters flooded the area in the mid 1800’s, and old mining sites line the river in various places. When they’re not frolicking in the water, your kids will become completely absorbed in trying to find their fortune with a gold pan, and you’ll have fun watching them try.
